McCormack Industries – The New Home of Yeomans Plow Co.
McCormack Industries is proud to carry forward one of Australia’s most important agricultural innovations — the Yeomans Keyline Plow. Now manufactured at our facility in Aubigny, just 20 minutes west of Toowoomba, this iconic equipment continues to lead the way in soil fertility development and regenerative farming.
The Yeomans Plow is far more than a cultivation tool; it is the foundation of the globally recognised Keyline system. Developed by P.A. Yeomans, this approach focuses on building soil from the subsoil up — increasing fertility, improving water infiltration, and creating resilient, productive landscapes.
Unlike conventional tillage, the Yeomans Plow works beneath the surface without turning or damaging the topsoil. Its narrow shanks gently lift and fracture compacted layers, allowing air and water to penetrate while preserving valuable organic matter. The result is healthier soils, deeper root growth, and improved moisture retention — all essential for long-term farming success.
By stimulating natural biological activity, the system encourages the formation of humus-rich soils, which underpin sustainable productivity and resilience in changing climates.
In addition the Yeomans plow plays a critical role in breaking up soil compaction — one of the most limiting factors in farm productivity. Over time, machinery traffic, livestock and seasonal conditions create dense hardpan layers that restrict root growth and prevent water, air and nutrients from moving freely through the soil. The Yeomans system addresses this by gently fracturing these compacted layers at depth, without disturbing the fertile topsoil. This deep loosening action allows water to infiltrate more effectively into the soil profile rather than running off, significantly improving moisture retention and drought resilience. As a result, plants develop deeper root systems, access more nutrients and moisture, and perform more consistently across varying seasonal conditions.
At McCormack Industries, we are proud to manufacture and support the Yeomans range right here in regional Queensland — ensuring this proven system continues to deliver practical, profitable results for Australian farmers.
